Boise City Hall Plaza Public
Art Fountain Proposals
Are On View for Public Comment
Boise- In 2011 Boise City and Capital
City Development Corporation invited artists living in the United
States to apply for the opportunity to design, fabricate and
install a water feature/public artwork for the plaza in front of
Boise City Hall at 150 N. Capitol Boulevard. The plaza will be
undergoing a complete renovation in the next year due to structural
issues. Forty artists applied. A selection panel chose three
finalists who have a history of working with water as an integrated
element. The finalists selected are Matthew Geller of New York
City, Buster Simpson of Seattle, and Re:site + SWA Group of
Houston. Each has created a detailed, site-specific proposal.
The public is invited to comment on the three proposals by going
to the Arts & History blog at /blog/ and
commenting on City Hall Plaza Proposals. Public comments will be
collected from May 22th - June 1st. All
public comments will be compiled and shared with decision
makers.
