& History Announces New Pilot Mini-Grant Program
BOISE, ID- The Boise City
Department of Arts & History announces the opening of the
Performing Arts for Cultural & Community Celebrations (PAC³)
mini-grant program. This $12,000 grant program provides funds
specifically for hiring performing artists and for costs associated
with incorporating performances into public events, such as renting
sound and stage equipment. The grant program opens January 17,
2012; applications are due March 1, 2012. This is the second year
of the PAC³ grant program.
Applicants can request funding for
up to $2000 for events that will take place between March 23,
2012 and September 30, 2012. Neighborhood groups, cultural
organizations, artists' collectives, and other organizers who have
a sincere interest in creating or continuing existing community
celebrations and events are encouraged to apply. In order to
qualify, some performance component of the event must be free to
the public up to the capacity for the venue.
The purpose of the grant program is
to expand opportunities for performing artists in Boise while
concurrently supporting public community celebrations.

The Department of Arts and
History was established by City Ordinance in March 2008 to enhance
the Boise community by providing leadership, advocacy, education,
services, and support for arts and history. The new Department
emerged from the former Boise City Arts Commission, which was
established by City Ordinance in 1978 as a nonprofit city agency to
advise and assist the City Council in development, coordination,
promotion and support of the arts.
