When I walk through Julia Davis Park on a sunny July morning and hear a 10-year-old shyly reading her latest poem to an enthusiastic Summer Writing Camp instructor, or engage in an Idaho Writers Guild “Back Talk” session with fellow professional writers on a Saturday afternoon at the Sun Ray Café in Hyde Park, or listen enthralled to the Poet Laureate of the United States as he shares his wisdom in verse to a sold-out Readings & Conversations audience at the Egyptian Theater, I feel like a proud mama seeing her brood make good in the world. Yes, words do work wonders, and The Cabin proves it.

I prefer Brown and Cole’s sculpture because it is interactive and references a healthy and pleasurable habit of the city, namely biking. It is creative and joyous without being too conceptual or literal.
RE: Linen District Proposal #2
I believe this art project best represents the Linen district history and current culture. The idea of music being associated with the bikes makes it that much more entertaining and interactive. It will speak the community on various levels and people of all ages will be able to appreciate and relate to it. It is important that community art be accessible to the entire community. This will only strengthen continued growth in this arena. Great ideas!
