  1. Diane says:

This proposal is my favorite. It integrates with the space, is eye-catching, and I love the plan for the LEDs.

  2. Brent Kelley says:

This wall sculpture proposal is my favorite of the bunch. It is unobtrusive, yet entirely fascinating, and greatly adds to the ice skating environment.

  3. Heather Slavin-Taylor says:

This proposal is truly representative of the activity and symbolism of Ice World. It is a synthesis of the art of ice sport and the connectivity between the people who participate in such… a true hybrid. Beautifully executed.

  4. Erica Cook says:

As a prof and lover of public and instillation art, this piece interacts not only with the space, but the audience and those on the ice. A responsive artwork to the movement and people in the room defines the work as going beyond just as “decoration” Decorative and abstracts pieces can be put anywhere, and can have no identity to their surroundings, it is readymade without being DuChamp. But, this piece actually becomes A PART of the space, this extends and influences those who skate there and create a visual dialogue for all viewers.
Having this piece installed would remodel the atmosphere and climate without just being an added non-defined work. This one has my vote

  5. Two thumbs up.
This impressive wall sculpture embodies the spirit of a skater and brings joy to those who view the characterization of the whimsical, yet delicate path of a skater’s blades. Its fine detail reminds us that art should enhance our surroundings instead of merely decorating them.

  6. Allison Early says:

I think this one is beautiful. Definitely evokes the movement and joy of skating. This one gets my vote. (as a side note – it reminds me of Alexander Calder’s Silver Bedhead http://www.guggenheim-venice.it/img/artisti/29/72g1_calder_testiera01_553.jpg)

    • Brandy says:

I was totally sold on this piece…until I got to the part about the LED lights. I think the metal sculpture is beautiful and has plenty of movement, but the lighting would distract from the action on the ice. The sculpture alone would have supported and added to the space, but I think the constantly shifting lighting would overpower it. Of the three proposals, this would be my second choice.

  7. Mandy says:

This proposal is by far the most interesting. It is beautiful and delicate. The rythms are perfect for the site and the actions happening at the site. The Sue Latta/ will Spearman piece is Klunky and obtrusive.

  8. Richard says:

Byron’s work is the best of the three. It would be a great addition and fit well with the theme of Idaho Iceworld. Reham’s, although beautiful, doesn’t fit well with the space. The medium of Mosiac lends itself to furniture and floors. (my opinon only)
