IF THESE WALLS COULD TALK: UNCOVERING THE HISTORY OF YOUR
HOME
Every house has a unique story. Historians
Elizabeth Jacox and Barbara Perry Bauer of TAG Historical Research
and Consulting present techniques and resources to help you
discover the history of your home and neighborhood. Elizabeth
and Barbara specialize in local and regional history and have
documented the history of hundreds of homes.

SEEING IT THROUGH: MAINTAINING & UPDATING HISTORIC
WINDOWS
Ray Westmoreland, from Wood Windows, Inc., presents hands-on
exercises for preserving and updating historic windows and
maximizing energy efficiency. Ray will address basic window
improvements, such as sash and window jam repair and
weather-stripping; he will also discuss safety precautions for
working with remnants of lead paint. DonWatts of the Idaho State
Historic Preservation Office (Idaho State Historical Society)
provides context by outlining preservation principles
and offering suggestions for salvaging original historic
materials.

IT'S WHAT'S ON THE OUTSIDE THAT COUNTS: EXTERIOR
MAINTENANCE
Fred Walters, a historical architect and consultant, provides
information on maintaining the exterior materials of your historic
home. Consider your options and identify where to put your
money, time, and effort related to common upkeep issues such as
roofing, siding, insulation, stone, and mortar repointing, managing
water and yard irrigation, and more.
All workshops will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the following
