Community Call for Creative Works Documenting Life During COVID-19

Boise City invites the community to submit creative works for purchase for the Boise City Archive to document life during Covid-19.

Boise City seeks to purchase original visual art, literary works or photo documentation of performative or digital works which serve to document or respond to the Covid-19 Pandemic of 2020. Selected artworks will be accessioned into the City of Boise’s Archive. All artworks must be two-dimensional, on paper, no larger than 50” by 30” in either direction and must relate to life in Boise during the pandemic. All 2D, paper media will be considered including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, written word, photo documentation of performative work, and more. Each applicant can submit up to four (4) works for consideration. The price of each artwork shall not exceed $500.00 to ensure the City can acquire a collection of works which serve to document a broad perspective from the community.

How do I apply?

To follow all federal, state, and local safety orders and restrictions in place at the time during the production of the work, including all social distancing guidelines, please submit all of your application materials via E-mail to The subject line MUST READ: COMMUNITY CALL APPLICATION. File names (JPEGS, Proposals, Resume, etc.) shall be named Community and Artist name (example: COMMUNITY-Smith1). All application materials must be submitted in one email with all images and documents included as attachments, not embedded in the email message. PDFs containing all materials will not be accepted. ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE SIGNED. The Owner of the application, once submitted, is the City of Boise.
