STUDENT COMMISSION OPENINGS

The City of Boise invites high school and college students (ages 15-21) residing within Boise city limits to apply to serve on the Boise City Arts & History Commission or the Boise Aiport Commission from December 2024 to June 2025. 

The City of Boise is committed to engaging the voices of young people in the civic process. This program provides a unique opportunity for students to contribute their perspectives on important issues, develop leadership skills, and gain a deeper understanding of municipal operations.

ABOUT THE AIRPORT COMMISSION

The Airport Commission oversees the Boise Air Terminal and provides for the orderly and efficient administration and operation of that facility. The Boise Airport is the primary commercial service airport in southwestern Idaho, but its service area (with a population of over 500,000) extends well into eastern Oregon.

Airport Commission meetings occur monthly on the first Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the Boise Airport. The Airport Commission is a great fit for students interested in aeronautics, civil and commercial aviation, military aviation, or economic development. More information here.

ABOUT THE BOISE CITY ARTS & HISTORY COMMISSION

The Boise City Arts and History Commission exists to support the City’s Department of Arts and History as it enhances the culture of the Boise community by providing leadership, advocacy, and support for the arts and pursuing projects, programs, or activities that relate to the identity, customs, skills, and history of our community. Members of the Boise City Arts and History Commission include Boise citizens with a variety of backgrounds and perspectives. 

Arts & History Commission commission meetings occur every other month from 5 - 6 p.m. at Boise City Hall. The Arts & History Commission is a great fit for students interested in public or performing art, local history, and the celebration of community through art, history, and cultural activities. More information here.
