The vibrant waterjet-cut awning panels outside the bus bay doors of Valley Regional Transit’s Main Street Station complement the four unique floor medallions marking key bus entry points. Each awning panel and medallion pair highlights a distinct Idaho landscape—river, foothills, high desert, and mountains—through imagery of local geography, wildlife, and outdoor recreation. The medallions, each representing a regional transportation theme like the Boise River’s float tube, a mountain bike for the foothills, a horse for the high desert, and a cross-country skier for the mountains, tie seamlessly with the colorful awning panels. The awnings serve not only an aesthetic purpose but also help guide transit users through the station, working together with the medallions to reinforce the natural beauty and culture of Idaho. Both elements share a unified color palette that reflects Valley Regional Transit’s branding, ensuring visual harmony across the station.
