An arrangement of seven steel sculptures, Cottonwoods embodies the remarkable ecology of the Boise River. Inspired by the towering trees along the river’s banks, Dwaine Carver and Zachary Hill’s artwork evokes the natural beauty of this place through the continuous movement of light, shadow, and reflection. This artwork proposes ecology, place, and memory as crucial elements of political space.
