"As a life-long and very passionate art educator, I am also a practicing batik artist. For over four decades I have combined by love of teaching art with my passion and love for all sentient beings. The inspiration for this traffic box employs traditional batik techniques, as I am always conscious of the deep historical roots of batik, and. also my deep love and respect for elephants as the subject of many of my batik creations. Art is necessary to human development and ways to make a difference, no matter how small, by educating the viewer. As artists and educators, we have a duty and a platform to educate.
