This site preserves one of Boise’s only tangible reminders of its early electric rail system—a trolley station from the South Boise interurban line (1906–1928). The restored shelter hosts a ghostly metal trolley, picnic basket, milk can, and suitcase—echoes of the everyday journeys and commerce once carried by the trolley. Informational panels chart the rise of streetcar-connected communities and the interurban loop that linked Boise to Caldwell and beyond. Designed as public art and place‑based learning, the plaza encourages visitors to pause and reflect on the city’s transit heritage—free to explore every day.
