This suite of ten images is from a series-in-progress which has a two-fold purpose: commemoration and recognition. The first is a celebration of those waning lifestyle choices that were the foundation to the lore and historical heritage of Idaho's uniqueness, which is a microcosm of our country's social evolution. Second, it is this artist's intention to expand awareness via these images of the sacrifice that humankind will undergo to achieve contentment within a cultural framework. The subjects in these portraits have sacrificed to sustain a way of life that is reminiscent of yesteryear and to practice their vocations within these confines. These people have graciously invited this photographer into their worlds for these intimate viewings. Finally, in every picture, there is an American Flag, which is sometimes obvious and, at other times, somewhat understated. It is meant to be a freedom symbol of our societal system which celebrates diverse life styles and vocations.
