Troy Passey had the honor of being the inaugural artist-in-residence at the James Castle House. During his short stay living and working at the JCH studio, he made large cardboard mobiles and small works on paper. Passey reveres James Castle, and is perpetually inspired by his mysterious, brilliant artwork, and his assiduous, lifelong devotion to creating art. The artwork seen here is part of a body of work created for the book; Woodsmoke: Reflections on Place, After James Castle, made in collaboration with J. Reuben Appelman. This book can be purchased at James Castle House Museum gift shop.
