These steel tree grates are laser cut with maps that depict Boise's system of fire hydrants which provide firefighters access to a water supply to put out fires quickly and efficiently. Fire hydrants are connected to the drinking water distribution system, so the water used to fight fires is the same treated water that comes out of your faucet. Fire hydrants are a vital part of firefighting and community safety.
