John Francis has tried to arrest with this series of images an unseen temporal reality; a conflation of what was with what will be, what is clearly seen and what exists only as a vague presence. These visions of landscape reflect a multitude of realities. The images were never directly seen at the moment they were captured. At times the resulting images caught Francis unaware as they combined frozen moments in time that transitioned between multiple fragmented views. In those instances, one moment seems to kaleidoscope into the next.
