"Soar is part of my Portrait and Lens collection of humans and nature that explores wellness, mental health, the space-time continuum and metaphysics. Through symbolism and image silhouettes or "cut outs" one glimpses a look into a different lens. A photographer changes a lens on the camera for a different temperature or mood. I shift perspective and time within each "lens" painting. The inspiration for this body of work is healing. Each piece has a universal story of wellness and illness which is defined in imagery, symbolism, chakra color theory and an alternate lens perspective. Boise is a city of beauty filled with the spirit of adventure and hope. There is also disparity, loss, mental illness, and depression is widespread across the globe. Soar is about rising above adversity. This painting depicts a bird flying into a fiery sky and it is rising above and filled with blue sky on the inside. This "Blue Sky on the inside" is a powerful tool we can use as humans to get through life's struggles. This piece is a painting of hope and inspiration to rise above, to try hard, to be what you want to become and spread your wings and fly." - Suzanne Lee Chetwood
