On this historic day, Boise Mayor David Bieter will proclaim the 2nd Monday of October, Indigenous People's Day. This day represents a landmark accomplishment for many Indigenous citizens of Boise and the surrounding area. Indigenous People's Day is part of a movement to recognize historical atrocities committed against Indigenous people while celebrating the history and contributions of Native and First Nations peoples to our community and to our city.
