Registration Opens for Spring 2024 Public Art Learning Series
A four-part professional development series offered to local artists aspiring to gain insight into the public art process and become impactful leaders in climate action.
Boise, Idaho – Ever wondered what it takes to be a public artist, particularly at the intersection of art and the environment? We invite members of the creative community to join us for Level Up: Going Public, a series of four workshops geared toward emerging and mid-career artists aspiring to work or hone their skills in the public realm. Each workshop will center on a different theme and offer tools, resources, and opportunities for growth and connection. *Admission is FREE* but spots for the workshops are limited. Join us for an enlightening workshop to learn about Boise's Public Art program and demystify the public art process. Dive into the artist call and discover what it takes to submit a compelling application. Whether you’re taking your first step into the public art realm or looking to refine your approach, this session will equip you with actionable steps to enhance your career in public art. - Public Artist Industry Night, April 25, 2024, 6:00 – 8 p.m., Location TBA
This panel discussion will bring together professional public artists to offer their insights on how to approach artist calls and succeed with proposals. Stay after the panel to join fellow creatives and local arts organizations from diverse backgrounds and skill levels to socialize, collaborate, and connect. Register now.

- Art of Sustainability: Artists Inspiring Eco-Consciousness
Learn how Boise is addressing Climate Action within the arts through discussions with public artists who inspire eco-consciousness through their work. Explore sustainable practices within art-making as well as upcoming opportunities to participate in environmental art with the City of Boise.
- Leveraging Cross-Promotional Collaboration
Attend a dynamic panel discussion with STEAM professionals comprised of local artists, scientists, planners, and members of the Public Works Climate Action Team. Explore innovative ways to collaborate across professions and learn how art can amplify larger goals and values within these fields. The event will culminate with the announcement of a Public Works Public Art artist call.
