This year marks the ninth annual Return of the Boise Valley People Event and will include a renaming celebration and dedication of Quarry View Park as Eagle Rock Park and Castle Rock Reserve as Chief Eagle Eye Reserve in recognition of the Boise Valley Tribes.

The park and reserve renaming ceremony will be Friday, June 14, at 9:30 a.m., at Eagle Rock Park (2150 Old Penitentiary Rd.).

The ceremony will include a traditional prayer and song by Tribal Representatives, welcoming remarks by Boise Parks & Recreation Director Doug Holloway, remarks by Idaho State Governor Brad Little, Tribal Representatives honoring the family of Chief Eagle Eye, Boise City Mayor David H. Bieter, followed by the official re-dedication and sign unveiling.

Immediately following is the Return of the Boise Valley People kickoff featuring Idaho National Guard Brigadier General Timothy Donnellan, Tribal Representatives, and Boise City Council Member Holli Woodings. The public is encouraged to participate in the public events held at the park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Limited parking is available at 2150 Old Penitentiary Rd. Parking, adjacent to Eagle Rock Park, or on street.
