Kaixo Corner Ribbon Cutting & Grand Opening

About this event
Join City of Boise leaders, Capital City Development Corporation (CCDC) and community partners as we celebrate the completion of Kaixo Corner (pronounced kie-sho and meaning “hello” in Basque) — Boise’s newest park! Located just across the street from the historic Basque Block, this revamped public space invites visitors to recognize the history, contributions and culture of diverse populations that have shaped and continue to influence one of Boise’s oldest neighborhoods.
Features include integrated public art by Hua Studio honoring and celebrating the history of immigration in Boise, new seating, lighting and a small stage that together will serve as a welcoming gathering space for residents and visitors.
The dedication event will include remarks and a ceremonial ribbon cutting, cultural performances and live music until 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.
The project, which has been under construction since January 2025, opens to the public just before Jaialdi, Boise’s highly anticipated Basque festival set to draw thousands of visitors to the city.
