About

Kevin McTeague (cello), Renaud Boucher-Browning (bass violin), and David Harrison (harpsichord) trace the cello’s evolution: from Gabrieli’s early solo ricercars, through Bach’s dance movements, into Geminiani’s sonatas that intertwine accompaniment and solo voice, with a detour into Dall’ Abaco’s daring solo caprices, and finally Boccherini’s virtuosic works—an arc from support to spotlight.
